In October 2021, with the support from the Goethe International Relief Fund 2021, Nomadic Red Corner – International Artist Residency launched its operation, in the courtyards of the Magic Land 2, Community Development Center, located in Uliastai Ger district of Ulaanbaatar city.
The main goal of the residency is to intensify close collaboration between Mongolian and international artists and curators through organization of workshops, events, exhibitions, and community development activities.
The residency compound consists of 3 traditional Mongolian dwellings called “Ger”. Each Ger has 3 beds, all kitchen amenities, sheets, towels, shelves, and other necessary supplies for accommodating 6 artists in total. Beautiful and spacious Gers feature a traditional, at the same time contemporary look; all pieces are designed and made by local craftsmen and contemporary artists. Restroom and shower are located inside of Magic Land Community Center.
