Upon completion of artistic neighborhood creation project and international residency opening Red Corner team has organized Public Art Weekend at Magic Land Community Development Center. At the opening of the event, artist Enkhbold Togmidshiirev performed with 50 local kids aged between 5-7, in the 400 meters long street where artists created artworks.

Enkhbold Togmidshiirev is recognized as Mongolia’s leading performance artist. Exploring the notions of home, being, time, space and mobility, he has exhibited internationally in the United Kingdom, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, China and South Korea.

For his performances, Enkhbold usually carries a small portable Ger and sets it up on either an empty beach, near a windmill or outside a museum. The idea of this little mobile home that travels and changes with its occupant constitutes the core of his artistic concept[1]. Aiming to evoke spiritual reflection through external sounds and smells, he envisions the home as a whole microcosm, emphasizing the need to connect with the original world and create unique relationships as he performs through specific actions and sounds within that spiritual space.

Enkhbold was invited to represent Mongolia at 56th Venice Art Biennale in 2015, which was Mongolia’s first-ever appearance at this prestigious global art event. He was also invited to participate in other international art exhibitions such as the Asia Pacific Triennial, Australia, the Manchester Triennial, UK, the Shanghai Biennale and Yunchuan Biennale, China and the Busan Biennale, South Korea among many others. He is one of the few artists to make his country’s name known internationally.
